This course gives teaching staff a practical understanding of how they can use nature and an outdoor environment to inspire, engage and motivate pupils. It is delivered over six twilight sessions or during inset days and is designed to embed a practical understanding of how teachers can maximise their outdoor space where all subjects can be taught and greatly enhance pupils learning, experience and wellbeing.
Each session will be based around a focused activity, where teachers will get a practical understanding, knowledge of the risks involved and how to minimize them and discover direct links to the curriculum of different subjects. Teachers will feel motivated, confident and empowered to use the outdoors as an effective means of teaching multiple subjects.
The practical outdoor sessions cover:
- Fire lighting
- Rope Knots & Tarp shelters
- Imagination & Art
- Fire-craft & Cooking
- Using tools, construction ideas
- Survival Scenarios
We offer a variety of First Aid courses bespoke to schools. As part of our commitment to schools and the wider community we strive to beat other providers on price. With our 12-month mental and physical well-being programme we will keep your staff trained and up to date for free.
It is important to note that all staff in schools should be trained in this life skill. For instance, the likelihood of choking is more likely to happen where eating is taken place. It is therefore important for canteen staff as well as teachers to be confident in life saving techniques.

Assessment & certification:
Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the candidates throughout the course, there is no final exam. Those candidates who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years (1 year for AED certification). Under the current HSE guidelines it is strongly recommended that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every twelve months.
